One-on-one Technology Consultations

The KNC is a teaching facility. Our staff offer one-on-one assistance with a wide range of hardware and software, as well as suggestions and advice for utilizing a particular technology to meet your needs. Walk-in (during our open hours); call (734-647-5836); or send e-mail to to make an appointment with one of our consultants. We also offer assistance and advice by phone or email.

Classroom Instruction

In addition to our one-on-one assistance, we offer classroom instruction on digital tools and techniques to improve academic systems and services. Topics include EndNote, RefWorks, developing web pages, introductory and advanced Photoshop, creating conference posters, and much more. For more information, see our workshop listings.

Scanning Reservations

Staff at the KNC are familiar with digitizing documents. From scanning articles for CTools to scanning slides and photographs for publications, we can help you with the resolution, size, and file format concerns you might have. Give us a call at 734-647-5836 and we'll talk with you about your particular situation and reserve some time for you on one of our scanners.


Mission Statement

KNC staff will introduce users to technologies which will enable them not only to identify, retrieve and manage knowledge resources, but also to use the technologies to create and disseminate knowledge, KNC staff will facilitate collaboration across the University, linking users to other specialists within the library system and beyond into the vast intellectual and technical community for ongoing support and completion of projects.
