How do I access Refworks?

On Campus

To access RefWorks account on campus, you can go directly to http://www.refworks.com/refworks/. RefWorks will recognize the IP address on your computer as U of M and the RefWorks User Login for the University of Michigan University Library window will appear. Select:

Off Campus

If you are off campus and want to setup an account, you’ll need to go through the Search Tools page at: http://searchtools.lib.umich.edu/
Click on Find Databases then go to the by Name tab to navigate to RefWorks.   You’ll be asked to sign on using library authentication.

If you are using Write-N-Cite off campus, you will be prompted to enter a group code in order to access your RefWorks account. The UM implementation of RefWorks does not use a group code. Instead, the library proxy server is used for remote access to RefWorks and all library electronic resources. RefWorks has developed a version of Write-N-Cite that is compatible with the proxy server. Follow these instructions to download and install Write-N-Cite.
