The latest version of ProCite was published several years ago, and it is no longer being updated. ProCite will not work with MS Word 2007. We do not recommend using ProCite to new users.
If you would just like to generate bibliographies, there are other tools available for free on the web that do not have a learning curve. These tools will not collect or import references for you, nor will they work hand-in-hand with word processors, but they will help you generate bibliographies in major styles (e.g. APA, MLA, etc.). One example is Calvin College's KnightCite.
