Services Available at the KNC

One-on-one Technology Consultations

The KNC is a teaching facility. Our staff offer one-on-one assistance with a wide range of hardware and software, as well as suggestions and advice for utilizing a particular technology to meet your needs. Walk-in (during our open hours); call (734-647-5836); or send e-mail to knc-info@umich.edu to make an appointment with one of our consultants. We also offer assistance and advice by phone or email.

The KNC is a member of the Teaching and Technology Collaborative, a campus group committed to cooperating and sharing information in order to meet the technology needs of the campus. If the KNC doesn't have the hardware, software, or expertise to assist you, we will refer you to another campus unit in an effort to help you get the job done!

Classroom Instruction

In addition to our one-on-one assistance, we offer classroom instruction on digital tools and techniques to improve academic systems and services. Topics include EndNote, RefWorks, developing web pages, introductory and advanced Photoshop, creating conference posters, and much more. For more information, see our workshop listings.

Scanning Consultations

Staff at the KNC are familiar with digitizing documents. From scanning articles for CTools to scanning slides and photographs for publications, we can help you with the resolution, size, and file format concerns you might have. Give us a call at 734-647-5836 and we'll talk with you about your particular situation and reserve some time for you on one of our scanners.
