i, 7 V(70) ; exclusively quinions ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes inserts).
Script:
Naskh with influence of nastaʻlīq (talik) ; clear Turkish hand (possibly more than one) ; serifless with effect of tilt to left or right, slight effect of words descending to baseline, pointing in strokes rather than distinct dots, freely ligatured.
Support:
European laid paper ; opening type with 11 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 24 and 32-33 mm. apart (horizontal), and watermark of teardrop shape with cross (see p.16, 17, 110, etc.), transluscent, thin and crisp though sturdy, well-burnished ; another type with 9 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 32-33 mm. apart (horizontal), and hand or glove watermark (possibly with flower above, see p.72, 90, etc.), thicker and sturdier than previous type ; staining and tide lines.
Binding:
Pasteboards now covered in layers of laid paper (including manuscript 'waste') with dark red-brown leather over spine and edges/turn-ins ; Type II binding (with flap, though now lost) ; board linings in untinted paper (including manuscript 'waste') ; sewn in heavy cream thread, two stations ; worked chevron endbands in blue and cream, damaged with significant losses at head and tail ; overall in quite poor condition with flap lost, significant abrasion and staining, lifting and losses of paper and leather, delamination of boards, etc. ; housed in box for protection.
