Script:

Naskh with influence of nastaʻlīq ; perhaps more than one hand ; virtually serifless ; mainly closed counters ; effect of words descending to baseline, occasionally more exaggerated ; occasional effect of tilt to the right ; freely ligatured ; final nūn often reversed (re-curved).

Decoration:

Overlining in red and black.

European laid paper with anchor in circle watermark (leaf above).

Binding:

Pasteboards covered in laid paper with spine, fore-edge flap and edges/turn-ins in brown leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in laid paper ; sewn in cream and dark blue thread, two stations ; worked chevron endbands in light blue and red, only partially intact ; overall in poor condition with much abrasion, lifting and losses of paper and leather, delamination of boards, staining, etc. ; repairs in dark brown leather.

Bookplate of British Museum, London on interior of upper cover, "British Museum, London. No. 102. Al-Inkah." ; circular seal impression with figure of goat/gazelle in purple ink as well as inscription "336" in Western numerals on front flyleaf (p.1) ; circular waqf-seal impression in black ink appears on ’title page’ (p.3) and several places throughout, reads: "هذا وقف الراجي فيض الصمدي الشيخ احمد ضيا الدين ابن مصطفى الخالدي فمن بدله بعد ما سمعه فانما اثمه على الذين يبدلونه" ; a few marginal corrections ; occasional notabilia (side-heads), a few rubricated ; kabīkaj invocation on upper board lining "يا كبيكج يا كبيكج يا كبيكج يا كبيكج".
