Richly decorated polychrome double-page opening with scalloped dome headpieces in green and red filled with swirling vegetal pattern and surmounted by vertical stalks (tīgh) accompanied by rectangular panels carrying the opening text (al-Fātiḥah facing opening of Sūrat al-Baqarah), headings and the āyah "انه لقرآن كريم في كتاب مكنون لا يمسه الا المطهرون وينزل من رب العالمين" ; entire piece is bordered by a frame in red and green with rule-border at some distance in the margin ; verse dividers in the form of stylized red circles appear throughout ; rule-border surrounds written area throughout ; text rubricated with sūrah headings, juzʼ markers, etc. in red.

Kuran." ; circular seal impression with figure of goat/gazelle in purple ink as well as inscription "295" in Western numerals on front flyleaf (p.1) ; childish scribbles on front flyleaf and elsewhere ; a few circular seal impressions on back fol.340a (p.681) along with octagonal seal impression "عبد الله بنده خدا ۱۱۲۰[؟]" ; a few marginal corrections ; notabilia marking each جزء and occasionally نصف جزء and حزب appear in red ink, black ink, or even pencil ; idiosyncratic numeral thalāthah is used (see sidehead for الجزء الثالث عشر on fol.138b/p.278).
