ILSL
Collections
The
ILSL has a rich collection of over 30,000 monographs and over 400 serials
that cover a wide variety of library and information science topics.
Our strongest areas of collection are:
Serials
Our
serials cover everything from annual reference works to professional
journals to state library newsletters. Newest issues for many are displayed
in our Journals area. We also have an archive of recent newsletters
from libraries across the country.
Library
Science
Covering library history, collection
development, administration, publishing history and all other related
topics, our library science collection is our strongest. It is used
by students, faculty, staff, and regional professionals across our area.
Information Science
Smaller but increasingly important
are our information science holdings. Interdisciplinary in scope, the
collection covers information retrieval and analysis, knowledge management,
information architecture, information use and much more.
Book
Arts
A small but useful collection, our
book arts material supports our special collections and conservators
in their work, as well as independent researchers. It includes works
on binding, printing, papermaking, book and printing history, bookplates
and similar topics.
Intellectual
Property
A key part of our collections covers
copyrights and othr intellectual property, focusing on issues of interest
to libraries and academia.
Juvenile
Collection
A
growing and varied collection (and one of our oldest) is our Juvenile
collection. Supporting students in the public library specialty as well
as librarians and researchers in children's literature, the collection
covers journals, picture books, young adult novels, and non-fiction.
Our strongest holdings include award winners, and increasingly Western
European titles as well.
