Interlibrary Loan Lending

Interlibrary Loan Lending makes materials available from the University of Michigan Library to academic, public and government libraries.

We accept requests through OCLC, DOCLINE, Rapid, UBorrow, and via our website.

To place requests through our website, libraries may set up an ILL Lending account by: 

  1. create a Friend Account with the University of Michigan
  2. email and tell us the email address you used for your friend account
  3. await the confirmation email
  4. once confirmed, you can place requests and check their status in ILLiad

To borrow materials from the Law Library (EMI/MIUL) please contact them directly.

Note on payment by invoice: You will be invoiced when appropriate; we accept payment by credit card and/or money order. We do not accept checks from outside the U.S. & Canada. International institutions may pay with two (2) IFLA vouchers.
