Instructor College is a Public Services effort which seeks to meet the needs University Library staff have instructing users about information resources and systems. It started with focus groups and a task force. Below are links to the focus group reports, the survey the Instructor College Task Force used in February 2000 to determine instructor needs, notes from Task Force meetings and the Task Force's Full Report.

Focus Groups
In December 1999 fifteen Library staff members active in instruction volunteered to participate in two focus groups, each facilitated by a Task Force member and recorded by a second member.

Expressing strong, widespread interest in instruction and improving their skills, participants spoke freely and fully. From the wealth of comments offered four broad thematic needs emerged. These centered on technology, teaching skills, instructional content, and behavior.

Instructor College Task Force Survey
The four themes, along with the gist of many specific comments, were converted into a five-part questionnaire and sent to approximately eighty staff members identified by the Public Service Council (PSC). Thirty-five surveys were returned.
