Wireless Computing at the Graduate Library

There are 2 wireless networks available in most of our public areas:

  • Who can use it?
U-M students, faculty, staff, and sponsored guests.
  • How secure is it?
MWireless is the preferred, most secure WiFi network. All data between your wireless device and the Access Point are encrypted.

  • Who can use it?
Visitors, alumni, and other unaffiliated users.
  • How secure is it?
MGuest is an open network. No encryption is provided.
  • What else should I know?
You can use this service to check your email and surf the web; however, if you need to access library journals, databases, or printing services, you’ll need to use one of our guest computers.

To print from MWireless and UM Wireless Network, follow the instructions at http://www.itcs.umich.edu/mprint

Be sure to select the nearest printer (e.g. Grad Reference). Each printed page side counts against your Basic Computing Package (400 pages per term for students, 50 pages for faculty & staff).
