Directions to the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library

The Graduate Library is located on the UM Central Campus. Although the street address is 913 South University Ave (Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1190), the Graduate Library is situated on the Diag (right in the middle of central campus).

From the East or West via I-94

1. Take I-94 to S. State exit (Exit 177). Head North toward the University of Michigan.

2. Remain on S. State for 2.5 miles.

3. Turn right onto South University.

4. Drive 1/2 block. The President's Residence and the Clements Library will be on your left. The Hatcher Graduate Library is behind the Clements Library.

5. For parking, continue driving to Forest Ave. and turn right.

6. The Forest St. Parking Structure is located immediately on your right.

7. Metered parking may also be available on State St.,Tappan Ave., or East University.

From the South via US 23

1. Take US 23 north to the second exit onto Washtenaw (Exit 37B, "Ann Arbor").

2. The exit ramp merges into Washtenaw heading west. Continue along Washtenaw, remaining in the right hand lane.

3. After 1.5 miles, there will be a slight turn to the right, but you will remain on Washtenaw. Continue for another 1.5 miles

4. Turn left onto Forest Ave.

5. The Forest St. Parking Structure is located immediately on your right.

6. Metered parking may also be available on State St.,Tappan Ave., or East University.

From the North via US 23

1. Take US 23 south to M-14 West.

2. Take Exit #3 called Downtown Ann Arbor. The exit ramp merges into N. Main.

3. Continue down N. Main for approximately 1 mile.

4. Turn left on Liberty St. Drive 6 blocks.

5. Turn right onto State St. Drive 1 1/2 blocks.

6. Turn left onto South University.

7. Drive 1/2 block. The President's Residence and the Clements Library will be on your left. The Hatcher Graduate Library is behind the Clements Library.

8. For parking, continue driving to Forest Ave. and turn right.

9. The Forest St. Parking Structure is located immediately on your right.

10. Metered parking may also be available on State St.,Tappan Ave., or East University.

Walking Directions from Forest St. Parking Structure

From the parking structure, go 1/2 block north to South University. Go left on South University until you reach the corner of South University and East University (East University stops at South University). At a diagonal to your right is an archway which passes through West Hall. Go through the archway and continue until you reach the Diag (brick plaza with 'M' in the center). The front entrance to the Graduate Library will be on your left.
