Printing Log in to http://www.mprint.umich.edu and follow the instructions there—be sure to select the nearest printer, e.g. Grad Reference, Grad Docs, or Grad Serials. MPrint works with Microsoft Office Files; PDFs, PostScript files, and plain text files. Each printed page side counts against your Basic Computing Package allocation.
What you need to use the U-M Wireless Network Your laptop computer must be equipped for wireless computing, and it must have a web browser installed. (Some Personal Digital Assistants are compatible with the wireless network but ITCS doesn’t support them.)
If you roam out of range or if you put your computer in hibernation/sleep mode you will be logged out automatically. Log out manually by typing “logout” in the browser’s URL box.
Security concerns Wireless technologies are relatively insecure. The U-M Wireless Network is an open network. Your password is encrypted during the login process. Once connected your data are not secured unless you are using a secure application such as a VPN or SSL web site. (mail.umich.edu is a secure web site). Look for the lock icon in your web browser to determine the security of the web pages you visit. A closed lock icon indicates the web page is secure.
