Proquest Full-Text Newspapers
This service provides online access to recent full-text articles (and citations to earlier articles) from the following newspapers:
Currency of the files ranges from one day to one week after the publication date, (the New York Times file is one day later, the International Herald-Tribune is a week later). The time span of available full-text records varies with the file, from the rolling 90 day limit in the New York Times file to several years for other files. Availability of article abstracts and citations ranges from two years to ten years of back issues depending on the newspapers selected. Searches can be performed in selected files simultaneously and records can be saved, printed, or e-mailed.

Ethnic Newswatch (1990 - ) (Available in the IC Area on CD-ROM)
Contains the complete text of more than 95,000 articles, editorials, and reviews published in approximately 100 ethnic and minority newspapers, magazines, and journals published in the United States. Provides multicultural coverage of subjects of interest to African Americans, Hispanics, Latinos, Chicanos, Native Americans, Asian, Jewish, Arab, and European Americans. Includes a directory providing bibliographic information for each publication covered.

Subject Resource Guides
A collection of links to resources in various disciplines, many of which have links to electronic journals and news sources. For example, the Latin America Resources Guide has several useful links to online news sources from Latin America.
The vast majority of newspapers to which UM subscribes are kept on microfilm in the Serials and Microforms Dept. (2 South Hatcher). Paper copies of the newspapers are kept until the microfilm is received. Complete UM holdings of various newspaper titles can be checked in MCAT.
