Graduate Library Purchase Request Form

The Graduate Library welcomes your recommendations for the purchase of books, journals, and electronic resources. Since the Library routinely adds over 100,000 individual volumes per year and maintains subscriptions to more than 50,000 journals and serials, please search the Mirlyn catalog to determine that the item you want is not already owned by or on order for the University Library system.

To request that the Graduate Library purchase an item or begin a subscription to a journal, please fill out the following form as completely as possible. If your purchase recommendation is more suitable for another University Library instead of the Graduate Library, we will forward it. You may also make your request directly to individual libraries, through the library forms page or by contacting librarian subject specialists.

Your request will be acted upon within one working day, but our ability to actually acquire a title or begin a journal subscription can vary from a few days to many months. We will notify you as soon as possible of our action in response to your request and contact you again when the title has actually been received and is available for your use.

For general information about the collections in a particular discipline, please contact gl.selection@umich.edu or the appropriate Graduate Library selector. To order a title for course reserves, please contact the University Library Reserve Service.
