Primary feature is a segregation index for each metropolitan area and cities therein (e.g. what type of neighborhood does each racial group live in)

Summary demographic and vital statistics; employment, education, government, housing, production and weather data. The population and economic censuses form the basis data also includes copyrighted material on community hospital beds.

Pan-government web site for microdata (raw, uncalculated data) produced by the major statistical-producing agencies
Searchable by keyword and/or category, agency, and file type (xml, csv, kml/kmz, esri, and other)
As of June 2009, this is a fledgling web site with 204 data files, primarily from the Environmental Protection Agency and Internal Revenue Service; expansion expected

FedStats

Comprehensive listing to statistical programs of over 70 federal government agencies
Arranged by agency or program; includes explanatory material and contacts
Search engine indexes individual statistical tables by keyword or agency and provides direct connection
The left column allows users to search for specific statistical tables by topic and geographic location

Historical Statistics of the United States, Colonial Times to 1970 (UMich Only)

Tables are time series on population, prices, foreign trade, government budgets, roughly 1789-1970
Most tables are national in scope
Excellent notes indicate when the statistic was first taken and cite sources
Unfortunately the tables from the CD-ROM version can not be downloaded from the server

Local Census

Convenient access to 2000 Census data by state, city and zip code
Summaries include a map, geographic identifiers, basic population data (age, race, sex), and income data
A special feature lists various industries and services in the area (e.g. doctors, funeral homes, entertainment, banks) with a map identifying their locations

Michigan Census Research Data Center (ISR/Census Bureau)

Joint project to provide qualified researchers with unpublished from the economic censuses, economic surveys, and decennial census
The data may permit users to identify individuals or companies so access requires a research proposal and approval
