Sharing a Personal View of the Bible Exhibit

For two decades, curator Kathryn Beam has presented a Bible exhibit at the University Library. This lecture focuses on the thousand-year period when Bibles were written on parchment, from approximately 400 to 1400 C.E.  The lecture will be enhanced by images taken from the Book of Kells and from two original manuscript Bibles owned by the University of Michigan Library – one dating from the 12th century and the other from the 13th century.

This lecture is offered in conjunction with a full exhibit, “A History of the Bible from Ancient Papyri to King James.” Kathryn will share how this exhibit started and how it evolved over the years.
