FutureLibCon: Theme 1 - Social Computing

Join us for part one of a four part series of inspiring, thought-provoking, and challenging conversations to explore the future role of the librarian.

An explosion of digital social networks, mobile technologies, and virtual classroom tools is transforming the higher education environment. How will these innovations shape the future of education, and how should the library respond to the changing nature of communication and academic relationships?

Explore how the changing nature of the learning environment will transform the librarian’s role in higher education.

Also of interest, the John Seely Brown Symposium keynote will feature danah boyd, a social media researcher at Microsoft Research New England and a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School. Her talk will be on "Youth-Generated Culture: Growing Up in an Era of Social Media."
