Paul N. Courant, whose appointment as University Librarian and Dean of Libraries ends in September, will speak about the academic library landscape and the ongoing reverberations of library digitization. As U-M Provost, Courant helped to establish the university's agreement with Google to digitize the library's collection, and as Dean of Libraries he co-founded HathiTrust to enable a consortium of research libraries to share their digitized collections. In April of this year, he was named an inaugural member of the Digital Public Library of America's Board of Directors.
