About Reference Services

The primary goal of the Reference Staff at the Dentistry Library is to assist the faculty, students, and staff of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry with their information needs.

Reference Questions

Reference questions may be asked in a variety of ways:

• Filling out the Reference Request Form
• Sending an e-mail message to dentistry.library@umich.edu
• Phoning (734) 764-1526 and enquiring if a reference librarian is available.
• Scheduling an appointment with a librarian by e-mailing dentistry.library@umich.edu or calling (734) 764-1526.
• You may also wish to contact a reference librarian at another campus library, including these fine services:

Library Classes

The Dentistry Library offers classes on topics such as UM-Medsearch, image scanning, and dental resources on the Internet. For descriptions of these classes and a registration form (for Dentistry Library classes only), as well as links to currently offered classes at other campus libraries, see our Library Classes page.

Literature Searches

The Reference Staff is available during Reference Desk hours and by appointment to help those who would like assistance in executing their own literature searches. For those who would like to have librarian to perform their searches, the Library offers Literature Search Services for a fee.
