The Dentistry Library, as a service to its patrons, develops and maintains a variety of finding aids
and instructional resources. These tools cover a variety of topics, ranging from information about
the library and its policies, through tools for finding information about a variety of aspects of
dentistry, to broader resources intended to support the development of new information by our
faculty and students and the use of technology within the library. In addition, we include selected
guides from other libraries which we feel are of interest to or useful for users of the Dentistry Library.
Some of the handouts listed below are available only as PDFs. PDF stands for Portable Document Format
and is a proprietary format standard belonging to Adobe Inc. To read a PDF file, you will need to have
installed on your computer the free software, Adobe Acrobat Reader. You must also have properly
configured your Internet browser to use it. For more detailed information regarding how to
download, install, or configure Adobe Acrobat Reader, please refer to the instructions provided
by the Information Technology Division for University of Michigan computer users
