Location

The Dentistry Library is on the Central Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Dentistry Library is located in the Dental School building at 1011 North University Avenue, between North Washtenaw Avenue, and Fletcher Street. This is location number 2 on the Central Campus Map.

Please consult our Entrance & Building Map to find your way to the library from the School of Dentistry building entrances. If you enter from North University, through the main entrance to the Dental School, signs indicate the route to the Dentistry Library. From the building entrance, immediately turn left and go down the hall, passing photographs of past years Dental School classes. At the end of the hall turn left through the double doors and go to the end of the hall. Go up the stairs one level to the Dentistry Library entrance. You may also choose to use the street-level ramp and elevator access just to the west, where the Dental Building adjoins the Kellogg Building.

Parking Information

It can be difficult to find parking near the Central Campus so be sure to allow plenty of time.

Some metered parking is available on Fletcher, around the corner from the School of Dentistry. There is additional metered parking about two blocks west on North University, and also some about two blocks north on East Washington Street.

Some visitor parking is available in the parking structure on Fletcher St. between the Power Center and the Dental School. The visitor section is accessed from Palmer Drive:

• From the North on Glen, continue past Ann to Huron (where Glen ends). Turn left onto Huron. You will come to curve. On the left is Zina Pitcher Place. As you take the curve to the right Huron becomes Washtenaw. Palmer will be the first street you come to. Turn right and go straight down Palmer. The entrance to the parking structure will be at the end of Palmer.

• If you are coming from the East on Washtenaw, once you go through the light at Geddes you will pass under a bridge. Palmer will be the first left turn after the bridge. The entrance to the parking structure will be straight ahead at the end of Palmer.

Bus Information

The Dentistry Library can be reached from the North Campus and the Medical Campus by using the blue UM Campus buses, which stop about one block east on North Washtenaw in front of the Natural History Museum and the C. C. Little building. The buses are free, and run at ten to twenty minute intervals depending on the time of day and day of the week. Call the University of Michigan Transportation Services at 764-3427 for details.

The area is also served by Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA) buses, also known as "The Ride". See the AATA homepage, or call 996-0400 for route and schedule information.

Safety Information

In case of emergency call 911 from anywhere on campus, or in the City of Ann Arbor. Blue topped emergency phones, which connect directly to UM Public Safety, are located at various points around campus. See the UM Department of Public Safety for additional personal safety information.
