a recall is placed a loan cannot be renewed.
Most course reserve materials may be charged out overnight two hours before
closing and are due back one hour after opening the next day.
The Library imposes fines or other fees and/or cancellation of borrowing privileges
in cases of delinquent loans or damaged materials. Fines will be charged for
every hour or day, whether the library is open or not. The following fines are
charged for overdue materials :
| Reserves | $1.00/hour per item |
| Books & Journals |
$.25/day per item |

$35.00 service charge |
| Claim Returned | Same charges as for lost materials may be charged. |
BORROWING PRIVILEGES WILL BE REINSTATED ONLY AFTER THE RETURN OF ALL DELINQUENT
MATERIALS.
HOLD CREDITS WILL BE PLACED AGAINST STUDENTS WITH UNPAID FINES OR RETURNED LOANS.
Exemptions:
Faculty and staff are exempt from fines on materials with a three-day or more
loan period. All other fines apply to all borrowers. For lost materials, once
the item is returned, fines will be waived for faculty and staff. For students,
a fine is calculated and applied to their record.
Notices of overdue loans are sent as a courtesy to the borrower. A date due slip is placed in the back of each book to inform the borrower when the item is due. Borrowers are expected to return books by the due date.
The Library will not take responsibility for undelivered overdue or recall
notices owing to failure of the borrower to report address changes to the University
or the Library.
Library materials may be returned to designated return sites at any library unit and they will be forwarded to the owning unit. For purposes of fines, the return date will be the date the item was received in any unit of the library. Reserve, recalled, and non-book materials must be returned to the library unit from which they were borrowed. Fines will be calculated for the interval between the due date/time and the time at which materials were discharged in the reserve unit from which they were borrowed.
