PEMSoft

Description

PEMSoft is an interactive clinical library and decision support system for pediatric emergency, critical care and primary care practitioners. PEMSoft provides extensive graphic support, multimedia features, and unique information delivery tools that help safeguard clinical practice and reduce errors. The vast database behind PEMSoft is completely integrated and organized by either assessment categories, diagnostic categories or special interactive modules so that critical information from thousands of linked content areas is available to the user in seconds via an intuitive graphic interface.

For most users, the Search feature is a quick and simple method to find topics of interest and create differential diagnoses lists based upon signs and symptoms. The content in PEMSoft is extensively linked, so that the user can navigate rapidly from one topic to the next. The resuscitation tool and medical calculator allow individualization of drug doses, equipment sizes and treatment approaches to infants, children, and adolescents, based upon specific ages and sizes.

PEMSoft is updated continuously. Editors conduct a comprehensive review of peer-reviewed journals, clinical databases and resources and national guidelines. Topics in PEMSoft are revised as new information emerges that changes clinical practice, or at least on an every other year basis.
