Filmakers Library Online


The U-M community has trial access to Filmakers Library, Second Edition through 3/27/16. The second edition adds over 500 new documentaries to the collection, including films released by First Run Features, Zeitgeist and the BBC.  Topics include race and gender studies, human rights, globalization, multiculturalism, international relations, criminal justice, the environment, bioethics, health, political science, current events, psychology, arts and literature.

Filmakers Library Online provides over 1000 documentary films (over 800 hours), originally distributed by Filmakers Library.  Films are on a variety of topics such as health, history, education, gender studies and psychology.  MLibrary has Filmakers Library Online Volumes 1, Volume 2 and Volume 3.

Each film has a transcript; many include filmmaker biography and notes. Clips and playlists can be created, saved and shared. Videos can be downloaded to an Apple OS or Android phone, available for 48 hours.
