Kathryn Vickers - The Price of Textbooks
The price of textbooks has become an issue of increased scrutiny in recent years. Join us as we examine the history of the state and federal legislation surrounding this issue, ending with a discussion of the digital and open textbook movement and what it means for scholarship and the affordability of higher education for the average American.
Kathryn Vickers is a first year graduate student pursuing her MSI at the School of Information, specializing in Information Policy and Library and Information Science. This research is a result of an internship with the Copyright Office, where she has worked closely with Melissa Levine and Greg Grossmeier.
