grew up in Finland and Sweden, and had a command of four languages by the time he was 10 years old. His travels and work have taken him around the world, and since 1989, he has been a faculty member of the Writing and Poetics Department and its MFA Program (The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics) at Naropa University. A professional literary editor and translator, he teaches a graduate-level translation seminar as well as creative writing and literature courses.
