You are invited to the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library's open house on March 13th for our new materials collection. The UM Library is leasing the collection from Material ConneXion®, a leading global platform for innovative and sustainable materials used in design, building and manufacturing. The collection consists of samples of 200 materials, a selected subset of the over 6,500 materials found in the Materials ConneXion® database. Imageworks in AAEL will house the materials on special shelving units created by the UM Cabinet Shop. We envision the collection being heavily used by the School of Art & Design, and the Architecture and Materials Engineering departments, but any university faculty, staff, or student can use the collection.
