Textile Arts of the Islamic World

Working Bibliographies

Eastern Hemisphere Curatorial Department

The Textile Museum Washington, DC

These working bibliographies do not pretend to be comprehensive or complete. They were compiled over the years in response to public inquiry and for exhibition planning, docent-training, and public programing. As our technological capabilities improve, we hope to make revisions on a regular basis.

It is our intent to share these working bibliographies so as to provide introductory materials to anyone interested in pursuing studies of textile arts of the Islamic world.

We welcome your corrections and contributions.

Carol Bier, Curator, Eastern Hemisphere Collections
