More ProQuest Historical Newspapers Now Available

The University Library is pleased to announce that online backfiles of additional newspapers from the U.S., Canada, and China are now available to all U-M Ann Arbor students, faculty and staff in the ProQuest Historical Newspapers database.

New titles added include Boston Globe (1872-1982), San Francisco Chronicle (1865-1922), and St. Louis Post-Dispatch (1874-1922) from the U.S., and Globe and Mail (1844-2010) and Toronto Star (1894-2012) from Canada.

Also included is a new collection of 4 American Jewish Newspapers (1854-2000), and 22 English-language titles in the new Chinese Newspapers Collection (1853-1952).

With these additions the U-M Ann Arbor campus now has access to over 50 titles in ProQuest Historical Newspapers, including a total of 10 major mainstream U.S. newspapers, 6 major African-American community newspapers, 5 major British and Irish newspapers, and selected major English-language newspapers from India and Israel as well as China.
