While the University Library has vast collections of research materials on campus, sometimes the stuff you need is not available here. As a UM student, staff or faculty member, you can request that the Library borrow items on your behalf from other academic libraries.
Our staff of the Interlibrary Loan department gladly and quickly locate books or copies of journal articles from other libraries on your behalf, at no cost to you. If you don't find what you need in our collections (by searching the library catalog, Mirlyn), simply complete the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request form. You will be notified when the material is ready for your use.
Questions about the service can be directed to (734)764-8584 or to Interlibrary.Loan@umich.edu or check out the ILL Borrowing FAQ. If you need help in completing your book or journal article citation, please feel free to contact the Ask Us! reference service.
